Raw Foods

Pregnancy suppresses your immune system, making you more susceptible to bacterial infections like E. Coli and salmonella. Therefore, raw foods that may contain these and other harmful bacteria should be avoided.

This includes sushi and raw seafood, clams, oysters, and other shellfish, raw or undercooked meat, undercooked poultry, soft-boiled and poached eggs, Caesar salads, cookie dough containing raw eggs, and raw sprouts.

All fish, beef, lamb, and pork should be cooked to 145 degrees, ground meat should be cooked to 160 degrees, and all poultry and ground poultry should reach 165 degrees.
