The inner ear bones have developed sufficiently to pick up sounds, including your voice.

The neck is lengthening and the baby can raise his head further, lifting up his chin from his chest.

The fully formed spinal cord now extends the entire length of the vertebral canal, with nerves leaving between every vertebra.

At 15 weeks the average crown to rump length is 2.9 in (7.4 cm) and the average weight is 0.8 oz (23 g).

The placenta undergoes a new wave of development to meet all your baby's needs.

The arms have grown long enough to allow the baby to place his hands together in front of his face.

Like many pregnant women in the second trimester, you may now be reaping the benefits of the pregnancy "glow," as hormones improve the appearance of your skin and hair. Enjoy this time and the attention that often comes with it. Amazingly, your baby's ears have formed enough for him to hear you speaking. He'll recognize your voice-and your partner's-when he comes out into the world.
